April 05 Brave AtheistsToday I applaud all of those brave Atheists that are willing to broadcast their opinions on the airwaves, publish books, podcasts, webpages, or get in the News and be our voice of reason.
Pat Condell: This guy does not hold back. Polite? No way. He doesn't pull any punches and packs so much information and argument in five minutes that you'll be cheering. He lists his Video and Audio blog under the banner of "Comedy" but there's more than just comedy in the postings. Every time I listen to guy I think "Finally, someone has the balls to say this."
Dan Barker and Annie Laurie Gaylor: Co-Presidents of the Freedom from Religion Foundation: I don't know of two other people who work so hard to protect our rights. They are true Americans and real heroes in my book. Check out their web page and listen to their radioshow/podcast.
Richard Dawkins: Google him, buy his books, watch his DVD's and catch his interviews.
Jonathan Miller: He created a four part history lesson for the BBC called a "Brief History of Disbelief," a calm, intelligent statement of facts. I know I shouldn't be surprised to learn that religious people can watch this and get angry. If you google the series you'll see just how crazy people can get when their faith is challenged by reason and historical fact. Bravo to Mr. Miller for all the work he has done.
Who are your Atheist Heroes?
JM October 14 Supporting your favorite group with an ADI just finished reading the most recent issue of the newspaper published by the FREEDOM FROM RELIGION FOUNDATION (ffrf.org) and was impressed by one of their ad ideas: They offer a full page of ads that you can cut out and submit to your local paper or "shopper" magazine. If you want to support the group, in addition to or rather than sending them money as a donation, you can see your dollars in action by placing an ad on their behalf. Here are a couple of examples of ads that you can use. You can also find BANNER links on their site (www.ffrf.org) that you can post on your own site. I'm happy to support their organization.

June 03 Welcome to the United Atheists of America. Our goal is to promote the Civil Rights of Atheists, Separation of State and Church, provide a forum for Atheists to exchange ideas and share experiences.
According to a recent survey, more than any other group in America, Atheists have been found to be the "most hated people in the USA." Why is that? Is this why so many Atheists feel the need to stay in the closet regarding their lack of belief in a supernatural being? We believe this hatred is apparent and even accepted by the masses.
Use our MSN forum (http://groups.msn.com/UnitedAtheistsofAmerica) to share your stories, advice and local News:
Thanks for visiting this site. We hope you find a bit of friendship, inspiration, some solutions and a place to express yourself here at the United Atheists of America. JM
